The Pulse Society

The Pulse society is an experience which will bring together tasty food, knowledge and overall wellbeing in a forum that encourages discussion on an array of subjects which encompasses vitality. A great place to meet likeminded people with similar interests and network.

The Pulse Society is a members club and costs £10 to join and will give you access to over £70 of benefits. The Pulse Society will hold six talks throughout 2011 and each of these is only £10 for club members; although non-members can join on the evening for the required fee. If 3 talks are booked at the same time a £5 discount will be given which toals £25 and if all six are booked then this will cost just £45.

When joining members will be given a ‘Pulse Card’ which entitles them to certain benefits at local partner organisations and the speakers who will be featured on the night.**

Each evening will be interactive and consist of 30-40 minutes of talks/demonstrations on the appropriate subject followed by a Q&A. Each meet will provide the members with in-depth knowledge on that particular subject, recipes to sample where appropriate, recipe cards and fact sheets.

All talks will start at 7pm unless stated and be on a Wednesday.

1st February: Low level Laser Therapy – Explained

Julie Turton from ‘Bloomsbury Therapies’ will explain how LLLT can increase healing speed, reduce inflammation and relieve pain as well as the many other benefits and why it is used by top healthcare professionals around the world.

7th March: Looking For Younger Skin

Louise Thams Minns from ‘uandyourskin’ takes a more natural approach to tackling the ageing process, with ‘healthy ageing’ rather than ‘anti-ageing’. Explaining ways to stay looking younger fro longer with advice on improving and maintaining skin health, not just looking line free and frozen in appearance.

2nd May: Menopause and Acupuncture

Experiencing hot flushes, night sweats, insomnia, annxiety, depression or any other menopause related symptoms? Find out how these symptoms can be alleviated by acupuncture and learn how simple changes to your lifestyle can help you feel good.

20th June: Using Hypnotherapy to Create Change

Experienced Hypnotherapist Alexis Main will discuss the use of hypnotherapy in overcoming anxiety, panic attacks and depression, freedom from phobias and fears, how to stop smoking, achieve and maintain weight loss as well as building confidence. a restful sleep exercise will be part of this talk.

12th September: The Health Delusion

Glenn Matten will be sharing the issues raised in his next book. It will break some big nutritional stories, challenge the culture of pharmaceutical drug-dependence and expose flaws in the diet and nutritional supplement industries. Fundamentally, it asks why in this age of high-tech medicine do we have so much illness and gives his vision of truly preventive medicine fit for the 21st century.

3rd October: Homeopathy at Home

Kathy Payne explains the basics behind homeopathy and gives hints and tips on using remedies in the home for some common minor ailments. Homeopathy is a system of medicine which involves treating the person with highly diluted substances, given mainly in tablet form with the aim of triggering the body’s natural system of healing. Based on their specific symptoms, a homeopath will match the most appropriate medicine to each patient.
